Today, two of the most anticipated "games with a 3 in their name" of all time had their release dates revealed: Fallout 3 and The Sims 3.
Developed and published by Bethesda, Fallout 3 is the third official game in the Fallout series (not counting spin-offs). Set more than 200 years following a nuclear war, gamers can create whatever type of character they want and explore the ruined nuclear wasteland that was once Washington D.C. Facing familiar and new enemies, both experienced Fallout veterans and new players should have a lot to look forward to. Launching on the PC as well as on Xbox 360 and PS3, Fallout 3 will be available October 28 in North America, and on October 31 in Europe. (No word yet on the release in Australia, but we’ll keep you posted when Bethesda responds.)
Also announced at the Leipzig Games Convention was the release of the highly anticipated The Sims 3. As I’m sure most people are aware, The Sims is already the most successful PC brand of all time, and The Sims 3 should continue the trend. With more customization features than ever, and much more community involvement in the form of evolving neighborhoods, people like former GN editor Chris Pereira will have even more to do as they spend their free time performing chores and going to work in a game rather than doing those in real life.
Unlike Fallout, The Sims 3 will drop everywhere in the world on February 20, 2009. The game will also be available in a limited collector’s edition, which will contain collectible Sims merchandise and an exclusive in-game car.
