Microsoft is getting ready for its annual spring update of the Xbox 360 dashboard, and early details on the release process and what will be included have been revealed.
Joystiq has received images from a Microsoft tech support employee claiming that the dashboard update will begin on May 19.
The document goes on to explain that the update will reach users in six separate groups between May 19 and May 30 in order to "ensure a high quality deployment."
As far as new features go, the update will include support for Microsoft’s new disc format, which future titles released in 2011 will use. In addition, PayPal support will be implemented for all users and "new international markets."
Microsoft has not confirmed any of these details, though the documents submitted to Joystiq certainly look credible. Gamers will know for sure when that May 19 date rolls around.
