With all the cool new system packages out for the Xbox 360 like the black elite and Halo 3 edition, who would have thought the Core system would have sold out? Last Thursday the core system was sold out at Best Buy, being put on a limited pick-up availability status on the website.
What’s the subtext here? Either Microsoft is making a killing on their cheapest version of the 360, or they’re making room for a new breed of cheap system.
I’m going to opt for option B. Amazon.com started allowing pre-orders for a new bundle first reported here at GamerNode called the Xbox 360 Arcade System, which is priced at a low $279.99 and comes with a slew of Xbox Live Arcade games.
Could this be Microsoft’s answer for casual gamers?
