Microsoft has been trying to come up with a solution to steal from the Wii’s "casual gamer" demographic for a while now. Their solution? They just launched the new Xbox 360 console–tailored for the family and it only costs $279.99.
The Xbox 360 Arcade console includes five family-friendly games, a wireless controller, HDMI connector and a 256MB memory card. The five games are: PAC-MAN Championship Edition, Uno, Luxor 2, Boom Boom Rocket and Feeding Frenzy.
Jeff Bell, VP of marketing said, "As families gather together this holiday, it is the perfect time to launch a new low-priced, high-value Xbox 360 that plays games, TV shows and music for everyone to enjoy."
Like most gateway drugs, the console opens the door for more things. In this case, into the world of Xbox Live Arcade and Marketplace, offering more low priced games as well as family television for downloads.
