In sports, there are a lot of people who want to be great but don’t put the work in, and what do they get? Nothing. They end up getting trounced, cut or riding the pine for the rest of their lives. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just buy athleticism? Well you can’t, even with steroids you need to put in time.
It’s no wonder that in the video game community, the same lazy people want to buy their way to "greatness". A Rogue in the World of Warcraft, which was armed with some of the best equipment in the game, was sold for 7,000 Euros (around $9,700).
Yeah that’s right, someone paid almost $10,000 for digital weapons and armor, and a little digital man.
What happened to playing a game to have fun? I guess he wanted to show off and brag. But it gets better, The buyer, Shaks, has had no recent activity since September 3.
Rumor has it that Blizzard caught wind of the highly publicized auction and enforced their policy against selling accounts… thus banning Shaks. Oh the irony.
Well Shaks, kiss your $10,000 good-bye. And next time, don’t take the easy way out.
