Reports of retail stores breaking the street date for Halo 3 have been pouring in but it looks like Microsoft is one step ahead. There were initial rumors that Microsoft will ban any gamer’s Xbox Live account who plays Halo 3 early, according to Pro-G, but that was proven to be false.
Instead, the ban will only affect Microsoft employees. Ouch, looks like not even Microsoft’s own people can play Halo 3 till the everyone else in the world can get their hands on the game come next week.
Note that lucky gamers who happen to get Halo 3 early will be perfectly safe when playing on Xbox Live but I imagine it’ll be a bit quiet since the few who got the game early are just that, the few.
I’m sure Bungie and Microsoft have played Halo 3 to death throughout the game’s development, so there’s nothing to worry about them being online and having their way with you if you logon early…hopefully.
