After spending hours practicing Red Octane,s Guitar Hero on your PlayStation 2, there is no better way to showcase your moves than by rocking out in front of thousands of people. This weekend at the Download Festival in Donington, England, over 40 members of the public did exactly that.Transformed from members of the public into actual Rock Gods, performers rocked out on the Gibson stage to renditions of metal classics such as Ace of Spades, Symphony of Destruction and Bark At The Moon. The festival, which boasted such acts as Guns and Roses and Metallica, featured equally stunning performances from the Guitar Heroes. It was an absolutely incredible few days," says Dave Noble, Business Development Manager for RedOctane. "To see these Guitar Hero players up on stage, strutting their stuff in ways in which Axl Rose would be proud was fantastic. It was brilliant to see the rock star poses transferred from the living rooms of the nation to the country’s greatest stages, and we’re extremely grateful to Gibson and Live Nation, organisers of the Download Festival, for helping us make Guitar Hero players’ dreams come true."
Published by Red Octane, Guitar Hero was released in the United States to critical acclaim in November 2005. All you wannabe rockstars better start practicing so that you, too, may one day share the same stage as Metallica.
