YouTube user ModernPrestige has posted a video showing off what looks to be an update to the Xbox 360 dashboard. The video above, shows off the new interface, which appears to functions exactly the same, but has a few aesthetic changes. The new Xbox 360 console design is a decidely more square piece of hardware, with much sharper angles. The new (we think) dashboard seems to follow in this pointy trend. The corners just all look a lot sharper.
User ModernPrestige’s YouTube page is mostly host to gameplay videos of Call of Duty. There is no reason to assume he (or she) has any kind of real connection to Microsoft. There is one thing that is undeniable though. Unless the upcoming update enables flight in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the sytem used to capture the video of the new dashboard is definitely modded. This could mean that ModernPrestige has a dev console, with the new dashboard installed for testing purposes, or it could mean that ModernPrestige is just handy with a soldering iron.
In any case, if this is in fact the future of the Xbox 360 Dashboard, it looks pretty snazzy. If it’s not, and ModernPrestige tweaked the inner workings of her (or his) console to make their own dashboard, well then they are certainly a talented person. I got tired of placing gender pronouns inside parenthesis.
