Ubisoft announced today that it is going to publish Demiurge Studios’ downloadable side-scrolling shooter, Shoot Many Robots. It was originally slated for a 2011 release, but has now been pushed to 2012.
Shoot Many Robots is an aptly-named shooter where players will use a varied mechanical arsenal to take down many robots. Players won’t need to fight off the hordes of robots alone, as four-player cooperative play is available in the campaign and survival modes. The game will also feature RPG elements like levelling up, customization, and unlockable access to new weapons and items.
It is also Demiurge Studios first original title. In the past, they have contributed to titles such as Green Day: Rock Band, Bioshock, Mass Effect, and Borderlands.
If players are headed to PAX Prime later this week, they will be able to see more of this game as it’s going to be one of Ubisoft’s featured titles at the show.
The game is slated for a 2012 release on the PlayStation Store, Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and PC.
