Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, shared some words with Reuters about the current shape of the gaming market, now that the "new" round of consoles has had some time to breath.
Guillemot made strong statements against Sony and its PS3, especially in advocating a price cut so Sony can start selling more consoles. While he didn’t elaborate further on the subject, Guillemot said, "For sure Sony will have a different market share…. lower than before. They have to decrease the price quite significantly."
Despite those comments, Guillemot revealed that Ubisoft is currently working on a PS3 exclusive title. The name will be revealed by Ubisoft at their event, Ubidays, which will take place next week in Paris. Other games that’ll be showcased at the event include Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell: Conviction.
Hopefully this exclusive title will stay as an exclusive title for Sony upon its release. Case in point, Assassin’s Creed was originally going to be a PS3 exclusive but was later announced for PC and Xbox 360. But with the less-than-strong confidence level uttered by Guillemot regarding the PS3, this mystery title may also find its way to other platforms as well.
