It took quite a few years, but strategy game developer Creative Assembly has finally decided to create a successor to 2004’s Rome: Total War.
Total War: Rome II will once again put players in control of the famed dynasty’s history, albeit with plenty of leeway to create their own epic battles and stories of expansion.
Al Bickham, studio communications manager at Creative Assembly, showed off a short demo recently, detailing the siege of Carthage. Although the game is in the very early stages of development, there was an emphasis on the smooth transitions between land and sea battles.
Not much information was revealed by Bickham, though he did mention how the upcoming strategy title will emphasize “the value of one man” on the battlefield.
Details may be scarce, but the fact that a sequel to Rome: Total War exists seems exciting enough. Hopefully Creative Assembly will reveal more information in the coming months.
