As the final days of August arrive, gamers will be getting a couple of highly anticipated titles both on disc and via download. The big release featured this week will be 2K Czech’s Mafia II for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The open world third-person shooter will follow main character Vito as he works his way into and up the Italian mob in Empire Bay, inspired heavily by New York City, during the 1940s and 1950s. Wii gamers will get their own 2K produced game, as NHL 2K11 comes exclusively to the Nintendo console on Tuesday.
Coming to Xbox LIVE on Wednesday and the PlayStation Network on Tuesday will be the bloody action-adventure sidescroller Shank from Klei Entertainment. Also arriving on Xbox LIVE will be the online service’s version of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
