Now before Microsoft can say, "We do not respond to unconfirmed rumors," some enterprising individual has proof that there will be an Xbox 360 price drop coming to Circuit City stores. (make the jump to see the ad)
Is this a one shot deal at just Circuit City, or is this an indication that there maybe a permanent price reduction for the 360 on a larger scale?
If history repeats itself, the Xbox 360 may indeed be heading for a price reduction. When big box stores discounted the PlayStation 3 earlier this year, Sony officially announced the price drop for the US shortly after. However, it’s anyone’s guess if Microsoft will do the same with its next gen console.
According to the ad, the Core Xbox 360 (no 20GB drive) will go from $298.99 to $279.99. The Premium 360 (with 20GB drive) will drop from $398.99 to $349.99 with the addition of a free RockStar table tennis game and the Elite will drop from $479.99 to $449.99.
