A game that makes you really happy
It was tough thinking of a game that I could say genuinely makes me happy, but once my wandering mind stumbled upon this particular title, I knew it would be my official choice. Animal Crossing makes me happy just thinking about it, and a smile came to my face the moment I remembered this game, my exploits in its small, simple, happy world, and the characters who lived there — ones who would remember me as their neighbor even after I abandoned the game for days, weeks, and months at a time.
I played way more of this game than I should have, at times when I could have been contributing to my own personal growth and the betterment of my real life, but it made me happy nonetheless. Doing essentially nothing was unusually enjoyable; fishing, bug-catching, planting trees, etc. were all just simple pleasures of a virtual world. I guess like real life… it’s the simple things.
I like Animal Crossing, and I might even feel a little guilty for not getting into its sequels, but that’s probably for the best, considering the hours I poured into the original.
Day 3 = Animal Crossing
Day 2 = Too Human
