The game that captivated you the quickest
A couple of games came to mind when reading this question. One was BioShock, which grabbed my attention when Jack dove deep into Rapture, but the other beat that; it had me drawn in from the opening seconds.
Shadow of the Colossus is now the third game to double up on this list, and for good reason: the game’s opening cinematic was beautiful, mysterious, and intriguing, quickly revealing a world that I desperately wanted to explore. (Obviously the music played a role in the seduction, too.)
Wander and Agro were shown traveling together for what appeared to be a very long journey, navigating treacherous terrain through inclement weather, and carrying a bundle of undisclosed contents. Their ultimate, unknown goal was clearly of the utmost importance, and it was understood that they would stop at nothing to reach it. Then the majesty of the forbidden lands opened wide, the story behind the travelers was revealed, and the game presented something very special to be experienced.
I was captivated… instantly and consistently.
