Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us coming this summer

The Wolf Among Us

Two years ago developer Telltale Games hinted at plans to create a title based on the Fables comic book series. Now the company has officially announced its existence and given the upcoming release a name: The Wolf Among Us.

The newest project from The Walking Dead creators takes place before the comics and puts players in the role of Bigby Wolf (The Big Bad Wolf). He has been exiled to New York City and finds himself protecting numerous fairytale characters, including Mr. Toad and the Three Little Pigs.

Telltale CEO Dan Connors talked about how his company hopes to expand the Fables universe with its upcoming videogame adaptation.

“Developing The Wolf Among Us based on the Fables universe has allowed our studio to build upon all of the hallmarks of what makes our episodic series so engaging for players,” he explained. “Through an evolution of our approach to choice and consequence, we can further explore the complexity of each and every iconic character in a universe rich with untold history from the darkest sides of the storybooks.”

A specific release date has not been given at this point, but Telltale did reveal that The Wolf Among Us will be coming out this summer for the Xbox 360, PC, Mac, and PlayStation 3.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
