Suda 51 wants to make a Killer7 sequel, but can't

Killer7

In some of the saddest news since I watched the ending of the movie Old Yeller, eccentric and polarizing game designer Suda 51 has revealed that he would like to make a sequel to his last-gen handiwork, Killer7, but won’t likely ever get the chance to do so because of copyright.

"Unfortunately, Capcom own the rights, so it’ll probably never happen," said the man responsible for the excellent Gamecube/PlayStation 2 title. Coincidentally, he never wanted a No More Heroes sequel, but thankfully ended up making the superior NMH2 in response to fans’ wishes to see more of Travis Touchdown’s story after the first game.

It’s too bad we won’t be seeing any more of the vastly underappreciated Killer7, but maybe it’s better to just preserve the original experience as it is, without the extra baggage a sequel can dump on a franchise. *sniffle*
