Early this morning, at the Tokyo Game Show, the all-star tag team Goichi Suda and Shinji Mikami have revealed their new collaborative project with Silent Hill series composer Akira Yamaoka and publisher division EA Partners. Shadows of the Damned is the "psychological action thriller" the two designers have wanted to put together for years, and now, suddenly, it has both an announcement trailer and a general release window… and it looks pretty intriguing.
"We’ve had you waiting for a long time," Suda 51 said to the audience in Tokyo. "Finally, today, we can reveal our game that we’ve been working on together with EA." He went on to say that the game will be released sometime in 2011.
According to the trailer and the few tidbits of info from the show, the game will center around protagonist and demon hunter Garcia, who storms the gates of hell to rescue his lost love. Of course, in true Suda fashion, the art style is non-standard, with everything appearing somewhat hazy and appropriately dark.
Check out the trailer. GN will have more information as it becomes available.
