Will Wright’s highly anticipated Spore may be coming to Xbox 360, Wii and PS3. In a recent interview, Spore creator (and industry legend) Will Wright hinted that Spore will probably be coming to consoles in the future.
Spore was originally announced as a PC game. However, developer Electronic Arts has since confirmed that Spore is already in development for handhelds and mobiles. As one of the most highly innovated and anticipated games for 2007, news that Spore will be developed for consoles is certainly good for the industry. “We,re looking at all the platforms for Spore, because we,re thinking about Spore as a franchise, not as a PC game. We,re going to do the PC game first, but really, what we,re trying to launch is an entire franchise that will be all across platforms.”
Wright concluded his interview by discussing some of the interesting challenges of bringing Spore to the consoles.
