In a strange reversal of fortune where PS3 exclusives have usually gone over to the 360, Sony can now finally say that it is taking away a few exclusive titles away from Microsoft. The two titles, Kane & Lynch and Crossfire, are headed over to SonyLand.
Crossfire, published by SCi Entertainment said, "The Board believes that a release of these products simultaneously on all three platforms (PS3, Xbox 360 and PC) including the two next generation platforms will benefit the long term revenue potential for these two strong franchises rather than releasing different versions at different times."
Why the switch to making these two games PS3 available? Theories differ but one that seems to be most plausible is the fact that the more titles that go cross-platform, the wider audience you’ll reach for selling the games, and thus, more profits. Also, with the increased user base of the PS3 since its launch in Europe, the PS3 is looking more viable as a machine that can sell games.
