With the success of Warhawk on the PlayStation 3, rumors are beginning to fly that Sony may revive another long dead franchise for their next-gen console: JetMoto.
JetMoto was one of the popular racing series released on the original PlayStation. The first installment was released in 1996, which spawned two sequels released in 1997 and 1999 respectively.
JetMoto was all about speed, thanks to the Magnetic Grapple gameplay mechanic. Placed across the tracks, these poles allowed gamers to whip their hoverbikes around tight corners without any loss of speed. As a result the races were always intense, fast, difficult, and downright insane.
While Sony has not officially confirmed or denied the rumor, the possibility is definitely there. It wouldn’t hurt Sony to pursue JetMoto either. Being that the last installment was released in 1999, there is a huge fan base that never got the chance to experience this challenging game. I know I would get a copy.
