A new Sleeping Dogs trailer is out, showcasing the game’s cover system, slow motion, car chases, and tons of bullets. Also explosions.
Sleeping Dogs has had a strange development cycle, getting cancelled by Activision back when it was known as True Crime: Hong Kong. However, it rose from the ashes of financial uncertainty as Sleeping Dogs, with Square Enix as its new publisher.
In Sleeping Dogs, players will step into the shoes of Wei Shen, an undercover cop attempting to infiltrate Hong Kong’s seedy underworld. The game looks to take mechanics shared with some of gaming’s most lauded titles (think Batman: Arkham Asylum, Max Payne 3, and the Need For Speed series) and wrap them up in a sandbox exterior.
GamerNode went hands-on with Sleeping Dogs back at PAX East, so slow-mo dive over to our preview for some further details.
Sleeping Dogs will be exploding into North American stores on August 14, and in European ones August 17.
