Hot off the success of an episodic gaming approach and a resurgence of an old but not forgotten game duo, Telltale Games announced that Sam & Max: Season Two will be starting this fall.
One of the big changes is the season’s distribution. This time around, GameTap will still retain the exclusive debut of each episode but instead of 15 days later, the episode will be available off of Telltale Games’ site the next day. It’s unknown how many game episodes will be in Season Two; Season One had 6 game episodes.
Dan Connors, CEO of Telltale Games, said, "Season One was a great success, but it’s just a starting point for us. The episodic model presents so many opportunities to innovate and engage the audience in brand new ways. Just wait until you see what Telltale and GameTap have in store with Season Two."
