Eidos has announced today that Just Cause 2 is coming and that Avalanche Studios will again take the helm in development.
The character of Rico Rodriquez reappears in this new iteration of the game where the venue changes to the Southeast Asian islands of Panau.
The title promises more weapons, vehicles, and stunts. The game world will span 1000 km² and offer different climates and weather effects. As it was with the first game, the game play will take an open ended approach to exploration and roaming.
Alex Price, the Brand Manager at Eidos said, "Remember everything you loved about Just Cause, then take it to the next level: vehicles, stunts, weapons, freedom, grappling hook, action, everything. The game world is even more incredible in Just Cause 2 and Rico has done a bit of growing up, so expect quite a few new surprises up his sleeves."
Just Cause 2 will be released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC sometime this year.
