Games like Okami owe a lot to Rez. The music-oriented Dreamcast shooter was one of the original artistic, critically-acclaimed games to suffer dismal sales in the wild. Well, the king of overlooked titles is back, and this time it’s in HD.
Kotaku has been reporting in their liveblog of the Microsoft pre-Tokyo Game Show press event that Rez HD is one among a number of new titles such as Ikaruga, another Dreamcast original, that will be hitting their Live Arcade online service in the coming months.
No specific date on that yet, and no information on a North American or European release, but both are virtual certainties.
These new releases of Dreamcast titles are a nice tribute in light of the Dreamcast’s recent birthday.
