Remedy Entertainment, the developer behind the first two Max Payne entries, has moved on to the Alan Wake franchise in recent years. Nevertheless, the head of the company had some glowing things to say about Rockstar’s upcoming Max Payne 3.
Matias Myllyrinne, CEO of Remedy Entertainment, commented on Max Payne 3‘s quality and how his company helped give input during the development process.
“It’s f***ing brilliant,” he said. “I’ve had a chance to play it and we’ve worked with Rockstar a little bit – obviously, they’re doing the heavy lifting. They’re doing the development.
“But they wanted our input on a couple of occasions and we’ve had loads of our people, our core group, who worked on the first two games, give input and it’s awesome.”
Given Rockstar’s impressive track record, it wouldn’t be too surprising if Max Payne 3 meets expectations. Gamers will know for sure when the title hits store shelves on May 15.
Mike, Dan, and I had a chance to play the game at PAX East this weekend, and I’m pretty sure we all agree with Matias. It’s shaping up to be quite an experience. Bullet time? Yep.
