According to a recent rumor going around the Web, a gamer recently purchased a refurbished Xbox 360 that had been permanently banned from the Xbox Live network because it was illegally modded.
When he tried to connect to Live, he received a bizarre error message and then contacted Microsoft with the problem.
The customer service operator over at Microsoft told him that there was nothing Microsoft could do about the problem, and that he was stuck with it.
At the moment, this is all a big rumor, and has not yet been confirmed by Microsoft or anybody else for that matter.
Many Xbox 360’s have been banned from Xbox Live for being modded, but never has this issue arisen with refurbished systems that were certified by Microsoft. If this rumor turns out to be true, it will put even more strain on the problems that have arisen with 360’s lately.
