QuakeCon 2011 dated

The next edition of the long-running convention is coming this August.

QuakeCon, the annual convention/massive LAN party hosted by iD Software and Bethesda Softworks, has revealed its dates for this year’s event. Open to the public and with free admission, Quakecon 2011 will take place from August 4-7.

Taking place at Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas, the event is North America’s largest Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) LAN party. Thousands of gamers will converge once again to join in on the enormous frag fest.

But that’s not all that Quakecon is about. There will also be plenty to do for those who don’t or can’t bring their PC to the convention.

"Bethesda Softworks will offer the first chance anywhere for gamers to get their hands on upcoming titles, and the world’s leading technology companies will be on hand to demonstrate their latest hardware and software in the 45,000 square foot exhibit hall," stated the press release. "Every day of QuakeCon is packed with contests, entertainment, announcements, panel discussions, and parties!"
