In the jealous eyes of PC gamers, their online FPS Quake III: Arena may be heading to the Xbox 360. According to a listing on the official ESRB website, the game is heading to the console, although it’s unclear if it’ll be an Xbox Live Arcade or full retail release. Thanks to the recent upgrade to a 150 MB size limit, Arena may be the perfect fit as an Xbox Live Arcade game.
Despite Quake III: Arena being a PC specialty for many years, the game has jumped to consoles. The game was originally released in December 1999; a Dreamcast port was released in 2000 and was praised for its smooth framerate and online play. In 2001, Quake III Revolution was released for the PS2. It sacrificed multiplayer for a more mission-based single player.
