The PS3 has been on store shelves for less than a week in the UK, and already, our friends across the water are seeing price cuts. UK retailer Aria.co.uk is offering the 60GB version of Sony’s newest console for the price of GBP 340.38 excluding VAT, or GBP 399.95 including VAT.
At the time of launch in Europe, the 60GB Playstation 3 carries a MSRP of GBP 425 or EUR 599.
Aria.co.uk is primarily a retailer of PC components and peripherals, but managing director Aria Taheri has indicated that with this promotion, it intends to secure a stronger position in the video game market.
The promotion is planned to run for "a limited period" only, but Taheri has suggested that as of yet, Aria.co.uk has no end date scheduled, stating, "We may end the promotion next week, or it could be two weeks or in a month’s time. It all just depends on how things go."
