The word on the street for the past couple of months has been that Sony will be offering a paid subcription version of PSN sometime in 2010, and VG247 has the first rumored details.
According to their source, the Premium PSN won’t cost more than $72 a year, which equals out to about one downloadable game per month. But it also sounds like the service will be giving away one free game out of "two to four" games each month. So the annual fee essentially covers the free games, and then the other features of the premium service come as a bonus. However, those features have yet to be announced.
If you’re not planning on paying for PSN regardless, don’t worry, because the source assures that free PSN users won’t lose anything with the addition of this new service. Cross-game voice chat is included under that umbrella.
Look for all the details to be revealed at Sony’s press conference at E3 on June 15th.
