It’s been about three weeks since the PlayStation Network security breach, and gamers are still unable to access the online service. Now it looks like PSN won’t be restored within the next few days either.
Patrick Seybold, Sony’s senior director of Corporate Communications & Social Media, took to the PlayStation Blog to briefly update gamers on the current state of the PSN restoration.
"I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored," he said. "At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process."
Many expected some PSN features to be restored last week, but Sony had to delay that in order to do "additional comprehensive system checks and testing." The long wait is unfortunate, but obviously ensuring the security of the new system is of the utmost importance.
