ArenaNet author and designer Angel Leigh McCoy has informed the world that the studio’s highly-anticipated MMO, Guild Wars 2, is creeping ever closer to its open beta phase.
McCoy let out the tidbit of information in a recent interview when asked about how the game was coming along and when it would finally see a release. She replied that she couldn’t give information on a release date as she didn’t know herself, but could provide an update on the game.
“What I can tell you is that we’re currently in Closed Beta and planning has begun for an Open Beta,” McCoy continued. “It’s all extremely exciting, and the game is coming along smashingly. It really is like magic when it all starts coming together and you see what an enormous accomplishment you’ve contributed to.”
Guild Wars 2 has been in its closed beta stage since mid-December and revealed its eighth and final profession, the mesmer, around that same time. The game has been in development since 2007 and has a release date of “when it’s ready.”
