If you’re craving an expanded mythos to accompany the release of Borderlands 2 then you’re in luck, my friends. Publisher IDW (“G.I. Joe,” “Transformers,” “30 Days of Night”) is releasing a four-part comic series that will outline the origins of the playable characters from the original game.
Written by Mikey Neumann (Borderlands, Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway), the short collection will be in canon with the video games. Below is an official description of the first issue:
“For the millions and millions of fans of the smash-hit video game Borderlands, a lingering question exists: how did the Vault Hunters get on the bus with Marcus in the first place? Find out how Roland got on the bus with Mordecai, Lilith, and Brick in this exciting look at the soldiers of the Crimson Lance and what made him leave their ranks and search for the Vault. Surprises abound in the first part of a four-issue series chronicling where Borderlands began!”
The first issue will be available in November, with Borderlands 2 releasing on September 25th.
