Oblivion Sales Soar

Bethesda Softwork’s critically acclaimed game Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has shipped 1.7 million copies between the Xbox 360 and PC versions. In our most professional and highly technical language possible; omg that’s a lot! Critics all over have praised the game for its beatiful graphics, lasting playablity and engaging gameplay with the scores to match. It currently sits atop the ranks at metacritic.com, among other gaming sites. Oblivion has become the fastest selling Xbox 360 game to date, and the PC version was the number-one-selling game during its first week of release, with the the collector’s edition coming in after that. The game has quite literally become second to none, or at least itself in this case. According to the National Purchase Diary (NPD), the PC version of the game has sold more than four times the amount than its predecessor; The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, which ironically enough has remained in the top 25 sold PC games since its release nearly four years ago. It seems the fears that people will be unwilling to purchase higher cost nex-gen games have just gone out the window as Oblivion sets the charts ablaze. We can only imagine what will happen when the next iteration of the Grand Theft Auto and Halo series is released. Until then, back to the game.
