Sega Europe confirmed today that the PS3 version of the upcoming sports title Virtua Tennis 3 won’t feature online game play. The game is set for release in Spring 2007 for PS3, Xbox 360, the PSP and the PC. Earlier this month, developer Neversoft announced that the PS3 version of Tony Hawk’s Project 8 won’t feature online multiplayer, either, due to a late reception of Sony’s online development tools.
Virtua Tennis 3 will feature enhanced visuals, advance player animations, improved AI, and even detailed expressions on their players’ faces. Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing for SEGA of America Inc. said this sequel will improve the franchise on all fronts, "The familiar depth of the Virtua Tennis franchise returns with improvements that can only be fully realized on next-gen systems.
