Rumor has recently been spreading throughout the gaming industry that a Gears of War sequel would be shown at the E3 conference next month in Santa Monica. Sadly, this rumor is false.
Epic Games Vice President Mark Rein derailed the rumor today with the following statement:
"We are not announcing a sequel to Gears of War at E3 this year. Did you see the update we just did for Gears of War last week? We’re still working on the first one."
Seeing the game’s popularity, I’m sure Epic Games has something up its sleeve. After all, they need to compete with Halo 3.
