The Emmy Awards, from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences have bestowed the coveted award for excellence in engineering creativity to Nintendo’s Wii for its motion-sensing controllers and to the DS’ touch screen control.
Nintendo of America VP of operations, Don James said, "The pioneering interfaces for Wii and Nintendo DS reflect our long tradition of seeking new ways to enhance the gaming experience for users at every level. We’re grateful for this award and thank the academy for honoring us a second time."
Last year, Nintendo scored an Emmy for its plus-shaped D-pad configuration.
