Nintendo has announced that they will finally be ending support for the original Famicom game system, known as the Nintendo Entertainment System in the U.S. It seems the company has run out of spare parts that would be required to complete repairs on the 24-year-old console.
Support for the Super Famicom (Super NES) will also begin to fade away from this point forward.
Said spokesperson Ken Toyoda, "Some say it’s sad Famicom is leaving and players are nostalgic, but Nintendo’s saga has not ended. We want people to enjoy the Wii now."
Yeah, I guess it’s about that time, huh?
