Nintendo is cutting the cost of the Wii to a suggested retail of $129.99 in the US before the holiday season. The new price drop will be available in the US by October 28.
The Wii will be available as a bundle, which includes a black console, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort combined on a single game disc, and a Wii Remote Plus complete with Nunchuk controller. Both the remote and controller will be a matching black. The bundle will replace the current black Wii that comes with New Super Mario Bros.
“Nearly six years after it launched, people are still attracted to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season.”
Along with the Wii taking a price cut, many US retailers have recently made a drop in the Xbox 360 as a holiday promotion to compete with the sales of both the Wii and upcoming Nintendo Wii U.
