Get ready to don your mayor boots again because the next SimCity game has been revealed.
In the upcoming July issue of Games for Windows magazine, they blow the cover off of the new addition and have reported that it will be named SimCity Societies, but what’s the deal with the Societies subtitle?
While the magazine hasn’t hit stores yet, what is known about the game is sketchy.
But what we do know is that famed SimCity developer Maxis will not be developing Societies. In fact, EA hired developer Tilted Mill Entertainment (Caesar IV) to handle the game instead. The game will be out this winter.
Judging by the subtitle and where EA is going by hiring Tilted Mill, it looks like Societies will focus (or continue to focus) on citizens.
Considering that Maxis has been basically concentrating on the multi-million seller The Sims and The Sims 2, maybe it was time for a breath of fresh air.
In any event, Maxis has its hands full in the continued development of the ever present expansion of this franchise.
