The latest rumor says that Crysis, the PC shooter that stretches the limitations of gaming rigs to the max, may be headed for the PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime in the fourth quarter of 2008 or first quarter of 2009.
The game may have to be dumbed down to run properly. As for the PS3, its highly touted Cell processor may finally get the chance to show its computing muscles with Crysis...that is, if the coders can find a way to properly program it.
One source says that Crytek is focusing on each system's treading core and is especially taking time in porting it over to the PS3 in order to maximize the power of the Cell processor for improved AI, quality graphics textures and other features.
Crysis received fairly high review scores in the high 8s. Some may wonder why Crysis is even being considered as a port for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The answer probably lies with who the publisher is...Electronic Arts.
Anymore questions?

gyad...here we go again
its not coming
this rumor has been floating for months, just because someone posted something at a PS3 fanboy site dosent mean anything has changed
Only the engine is being ported, not the game.
Possibly even a tamed version of the engine, similar to the console version of Far Cry 2
Sounds like a lame fest
@Alex6969
idk what youve been smoking bud, FC2 is using an identical engine between PC and consoles, the only difference is texture res and shaders
If the engine is being ported why no the rest of game? Porting to code is half the battle!
i have heard from many friends co workers etc. that the only good part of crysis is the graphics. i hear the game is horrible.
I thought it was good although buggy.
Also I was pissed that you never got in the middle of a huge alien vs korean fight with both of them fighting you. It was always one or the other, which pissed me off.

If you can really say that the 360/PS3 will be able to handle the Dunia engine at it's full potential, then you win the Oscar. Even uncharted, the best looking game for consoles, doesn't even come close to Crysis' graphical prowess, let alone Far Cry 2's. No matter how much you optimize code the PS3/360 won't have enough power to run the PC's version of Dunia.
P-Thunder: Because Crytek decided it was a PC exclusive.
"i have heard from many friends co workers etc. that the only good part of crysis is the graphics. i hear the game is horrible."
Not true, imo. The gameplay was really enjoyable, though every now and then annoying (on delta, the hardest setting, enemies can easily eat a lot more than you can)
Sometimes the game has AI problems, but in my experience this has only happened once; two soldiers on a hill died instantly when I walked up to them, and when their bodies rolled down the hill, it killed me. :D
Still an extraordinary game. Porting to consoles, however = twats looking for more money.
