Warning PlayStation 3 owners, Home may be delayed for a third time. While not confirmed by the Sony camp, a recent interview with Kaz Hirai is sure to have fans worried.
In the interview Mr. Hirai reflects on the last two Home delays and explains why he felt they were in the best interest of the product and the fans it would be reaching. Mr. Hirai feels it is better to release a fully featured and complete product as opposed to one which is half done. If Home is good enough, no one will complain once it finally hits.
"As I've said on numerous occasions, I'd much rather make sure we take the time to have a great service rather than rush something into the market - only for consumers to say: 'This is not enough for me.' I want to avoid that. If we have the right service, it doesn't matter when we launch - so long as it's in a reasonable timeframe."Home was meant to hit the PlayStation 3 for Fall 2007, with the current launch window now sitting at Fall 2008. Will we ever see Home hit the PlayStation 3? Eventually, yes, but how long will the Sony crowd hold out?

Sony's been funny all generation with their "launch window" bs. I believe Killzone had a launch window somewhere in 2006 and that game is still not released. Using Killzone as a constant expect Home sometime in 2010... just saying.
Home reminds me of the N64 DD addon. It was always there on the fringes but never saw the light of day, except in japan for a few months. With all these delays, when it does launch, no one will remember it nor be excited for it when it does launch.
The problem I see here is that Sony is taking too long to do anything causing them to lose huge chunks of market share to its competitors. This Home network delay is costing them the online market every day it is not out there.
