A UK Prison Service directive has been sent out that will ban most prisoners from playing violent video games.
But if inmates can achieve the highest levels of Incentives and Earned Privileges for good behavior, they'll still be able to play games.
According to statistics, the UK Government spent more than 10,000 pounds ($19,900 US) on 80 PlayStations and 15 Xboxes for young offender institutions.
In addition to prisoners who have earned the highest EP (earned privileges), those at risk of suicide will also be allowed to play video games.

Surely all the inmates will just say they want to commit suicide then? I don't think they thought this idea through...
Remind me to not land myself in that prison.
Prison shouldn't have video games, cable, tv, internet, nor weight rooms to buff them up to retarded statures... It's frickin' PRISON! Such stupidity in this world.
Well said Hylden
I believe that the only thing that prisoners should have are crappy meals, hard labor, and maybe some books.
Too right they shouldn't play games.
What sig said = ]
Or we could just shoot them...
I'm just saying we could!
What about minor drug offenders, tax evaders, the falsely accused, ext. If you don't steel or kill, you should not be in prison. You guys are a bit harsh. The ones who steel or kill though, I agree. They should be shot, nursed back to health, and then shot again.
And then bring on the chinese water torture!
So... When was it exactly that "Prison" became synonymous with "Hotel"? Where'd the dungeons go, huh?
