It looks like the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe from Midway will be only semi-fatal. In a recent interview, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon describes how fatalities will work, and who will be able to use them in the mash-up fighting game.
According to Boon, all of the game's MK characters and all of the DC Supervillians will be capable of performing fatalities on their defeated and helpless opponents. When it comes to DC Superheroes, however, it is more of a toss-up.
"All of the MK characters and all of the DC villains will have fatalities. The DC heroes who don't kill that often will have brutalities that will function just like fatalities but don't actually kill the opponent."
I guess that makes sense. With a Teen rating and content that Boon claims is already "pushing the T-rating envelope," one would expect to see some moderation on the DC end. Besides, superheroes can be pansies sometimes

This is too much to hope. But can you concentrate on the fighting engine? Most MK fighting games suck.Free form combos, counters (ala Jin from tekken), charge moves, better collision detection, multiple throws, counter throws, multiple strength of hits based on how solid they connected, ext. Then work on fatalities.
I hear you, man, but everything you just listed gives me the impression that you're simply dreaming the impossible dream. :-(
well eddie, you know what they say "if you can dream it, you can live it" Hell if thats what you want ninja you go out and be the first game programmer to integrate all that in a bad-ass fighting game mixup. Or you could let the people currently doing it keep the monotonous tone that all fighting games have.
Still very meh sounding take the game Street Fighter did better than with a comcis Marvel always has been better than and you probbly will get a game not many will care about.
im starting to actually think about this game. i dislike mortal kombat ever since it went 3d.. i like DC alot more then marvel and this game will not help them at all i think (wont help DC )
Is there REALLY anything wrong with Superman tearing Johnny Cage completely in two?
I thought not... :-D
So long as Jesse Custer gets in, I don't care about fatalities.
I guess I'm giving away my comic affiliation here, but I have no idea who Jesse Custer is.
Main character of Preacher (a DC Vertigo comic), and one bad-ass character at that.
