Ready at Dawn, the game developer of the highly acclaimed PSP title, God of War: Chains of Olympus, and the popular Daxter game says that it is calling it quits as far as making any more games for the PSP.
Ready at Dawn sent back all of its devkits to Sony and will be moving on to bigger and better projects.
On RaD's website, an announcement stated:
"With Chains of Olympus going Gold in Japan... we're now officially done with PSP development. So today we sent all our devkits back and seeing all these boxes ready to be picked up definitely marks the end of an era here at Ready At Dawn.
"Can't wait to show you guys what we have in store...."
Although the announcement was sudden, there may have been hints that RaD was thinking about leaving the PSP. Didier Malenfant, president of Ready at Dawn, said in 2006 that other developers weren't putting enough effort into making games that were creative and that they were blaming the PSP platform as the problem.
"Everything is compromised, and it bugs the hell out of me when you hear a lot of developers saying, 'Well, we can't do this that way because it's a handheld game,' or 'We can't do this because it doesn't have a second analog stick.' Those are all excuses."
Perhaps the lack of support from other developers was the final straw for Ready at Dawn. Regardless of whether Malenfant's observations were correct or not, the game library of the PSP could stand to inprove some more.
With Ready at Dawn pulling out of the PSP camp, Sony's handheld will be missing a key player in its software development stable.

Well i aint gonna miss them either way. Daxter was good, but it was also pretty slow paced and picky, and i have never played a GOW game.
hopely they move on to some cool ps3 games
This is a talented crew; hope to see them work on an original IP sometime in the future.
