I guess it's only fitting that this rumor surfaces mere days before MGS4's release. According to Ripten's sources, the seminal MGS game is set to hit Xbox Live Arcade.
They say this due to a report coming in from a reliable individual noticing the game on a "certain pre-release network." They didn't say much more except that there are some problems in the conversion process.
I would assume so--the original MGS' filesize was over 1GB. It must be quite a painful process to shrink the game in order to meet XBLA's current file limit of 150MB.
Remember this story is a rumor right now. Ripten isn't exactly known for being the most reliable site but let's keep our fingers crossed anyway. I know I'd want to see this game hit XBLA. I haven't played a single MGS game and what better way to start than with than an HD port of the original?

I dont believe it, and if i am wrong, you can punch me in the stomach (LOL)
not enough reason to care played this game to death
Why would they port it to the 360 when they've abandoned the Xbox as a medium for the MGS franchise? =/
You haven't played a single mgs game? Blasphemy.
Nope, not one. Not allowed to.
wow, that sucks.
I really need to get into the MGS series. I've only played portable ops, but it was awesome.
didn't microsoft just increase the limit to 350 and say that they could make exceptions for some games depending on what game it is and the prospect for its success? not that 350mb helps a whole lot coming down from 1gb but nevertheless...
I don't care either way.
Maybe the report got mixed up and it's actually the original Metal Gear game?
3x 700mb discs, I seriously don't think they will have 2GB worth of data anytime soon on xbla....
Well, they've been expanding their horizons with the XBox originals download line, and those aren't just exclusive titles on there. Several weigh in at well over 2gb as well.
This one does seem unlikely, but mayhap MS is beginning to take the idea of digital distribution for larger titles a little more seriously?
Dr.Aaron, MGS was on two discs IIRC.
I am more looking forward to the original Soul Calibur.
There's a reason this is a rumor and not news.
It'll never happan
