Daily Q: What's the longest you've played at once?

DQIt seems that some video games are timeless, and by that I mean in more ways than one. There is the facet of a timeless game being so fun and involving that it continues to survive and be talked about even long after it has arrived on the scene.

These games aren't always necessarily big sellers but they remain in the hearts of video gamers everywhere.

The other timeless aspect of these games is the effect they have on us while playing them--time literally stands still. What you though was only the passing of an hour or two suddenly turns into five, and five suddenly turns into eight.

For me, Final Fantasy X was such a game. When it first came out, I held off on playing it because I knew I would have to devote a good chunk of time. I waited till it was Christmas break and I cracked open the seal and started to play it at 10AM. Before I knew it, it was 1PM...and then suddenly 12AM.

I finally put FFX away for fear that my family would discover that I played for 14 hours straight on a video game and throw me in the basement until I came to my senses. (That wouldn't have worked. I have game consoles down there too.)

That lengthy game session is not the norm for me. But occasionally, I will play a game that totally has me immersed in it, and for all intents and purposes, its good-bye life for about a week.

The question of the day is:

What was the longest time (in hours) have you ever played a game in one sitting?

back in high school when halo first came out... we played that game all spring break (a full week) with some sleeping and eating breaks thrown in there. But i can guarantee we started out by going between 20 and 22 hours. can't be absolutely certain, but we were pretty easily approaching 100 hours of halo in just that week alone... (we would literally wake up and grab our controllers right away and start it up again... that basement smelled so bad at the end of the week...). there were probably about 5 or 6 of us that actually got that full week in, there were a lot of people that would stop in and just throw down for like 5 or 6 hours and then leave, but 90 percent of the time we had 14 to 16 player halo going on.

When WoW was still in its early years, i got a a mage up to lvl 59. I had to go out of town for a week, when i came back I got to 60 and played for 12 hours in a row. Since then though u haven't ever gamed more that 6 hours maybe.

I've done some massive sessions with 3B on Live. Played the Halo 3 co-op campaign and some GTAIV on the weekend, both clocked in around 8-9 hours.

I remember when Roller Coaster Tycoon was the only game I played I pulled some massive 10-15 hour sessions, same with SimCity 2000 and 3000.

When I first installed HL2: DM I spent nearly 23 hours fighting through the servers

I think I pull a 16-hour session on WoW back in the day. In retrospect, it wasn't a good idea, because I suffered massive burnout and soon stopped playing it.
