When some people want to have an interactive, virtual experience, they venture to the store to buy a videogame. Others, well... Others buy entire suites of game paraphernalia for more than twice the cost of the basic gaming package.
Keeping the modern trend of special and collector's edition videogames intact, Bethesda Softworks and online retailer Amazon.com have announced the Fallout 3 Survival Edition, which in now available for preorder exclusively at Amazon.
This precious little bundle of joy will include the following items, all of which are all part of the previously announced Collector's Edition:
- The Fallout 3 game
- 5" Vault Boy Bobblehead: Enjoy your very own Vault Boy with this collector's item direct from Vault-Tec.
- 'The Art of Fallout 3' hardcover: This hardcover book features nearly 100 pages of never-before seen concept art and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists.
- 'The Making of Fallout 3' DVD: Get an exclusive, inside look at Bethesda Game Studios and the team behind the game with this special DVD.
- Customized Vault-Tec Lunch Box: The entire package comes in a fully customized metal lunchbox.
Added especially for this package is the Pip-Boy 3000 digital clock, "the wrist-mounted device worn by characters in-game." "The Pip-Boy 3000 has been painstakingly recreated and modified for real world display as a digital clock."
All of these toys won't come cheap, however; the package will cost $129.99 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and $119.99 on the PC. Will you be preordering?

i'm going to lean towards "no"...
uh.....unnecessary?
I hope they release the concept art book seperately later. I'm a sucker for concept art, but I'm sure as heck not paying 120 bucks.
Damn. I will most likely get this.
I would snap it up....but i won't. It's worth the money, sure, but thats too much money.
Something like the Crisis Core special edition is better, £25 with a 40-odd page artbook, and presentation case. For Fallout 3, some thing around £35 - £40 i would go for, but £60 is a bit much.
Nope. But I sure will get fallout 3.
Since I'm not expecting sales on this to soar, I'll wait two or three months after release for the price to drop. Sure CAN wait to get me one of those Vault Boys.
