Sony steals right? Their systems include rumble technology, motion-sensors, wifi, but is it really stealing or borrowing good ideas? Now what if Sony started to make a controller that was exactly like the Nintendo Wii-mote?
Would that be stealing or utilizing an idea? Either way, Sony has declined to comment on speculation that it is making its very own Wiimote-style controller for PS3.
Reports suggest Sony ran secret focus groups in the US at the beginning of the year--console owners were shown the motion-sensing device. According to PlaystationLife the remote was "incredibly responsive and accurate." Some of the titles that were shown using this new controller featured tennis, fencing, and paintball, all with pinpoint accuracy.
Even though Sony is no real stranger to motion-sensing (SIXAXIS), they aren't afraid to delve deeper in the interactive "physically manipulated" gameplay mechanics that the Nintendo Wii seems to be doing so well with.
I think the real question that should be asked here is if Sony is making a little backhanded mockery of Nintendo and telling everyone that even though the Wii-mote is intuitive and new, it's only just a gimmick.

I would be pissed if the 3 comes out with a wiimote. That means any chance for intuitive games for the wii, as well as straight p FPS would be shortened, because everyone knows that alot of gamers want graphics and not gameplay, so many dev's would hit up the 3.
Slow painful death for Nintendo if this comes out?
wouldnt be the first time sony copied nintendo. nintendo has been fine it will be fine still
wow people copying other people wow old news one person made a game console and got rich so another one made one so I think everyone is copying everyone so who cares. But this might be a good idea to get more people to play the ps3 I hope it is good. and not bad.
now all we need is a dual-touch screen psp
Requiem: While they might lose sales from more harcore gamers, they have plenty of casual gamers that arn't willing to pay $400-$600 dollars for a console that they don't play much. So I don't think Nintendo has to worry much.
I think it would actually be good if they came out with something like this. It would mean that we wouldn't have to buy two consoles to get both styles of gameplay.
Protip: Use a wiimote bluetooth hack on your PC to control a ps2 emulator.
